Some Discussion

After last night's meeting, I recalled a question that is for the adult small group leaders at Credo. On their application the question goes something like "What do you think are the greatest struggles teenagers face today?"

I'd like to ask that question to the teens. What are the greatest struggles you face today? What are the greatest challenges you face in trying to live out your faith?

  1. Brad, Some of the greatest struggles I find in living out my faith is persecution through mockery. I have talked about how some of the kids on my rowing team have mocked and asked me why I beleive in God. I feel that sometimes another big struggle is against media. Jason Evert pointed out that the media is telling teens especially that sex is a good thing. It is another struggle to remain pure especially as a teenager.

  2. Distractions. There are so many distractions in our lives that divert us from our true focus. Often, I'll begin doing something productive only to get easily distracted and diverted.

Distractions are also a stumbling block in trying to live out our faith. It's easy to get sidetracked and then not follow through with your intentional religious aspirations.
